Hello, we understand your concern about the pronouns being listed. We have it where one can choose not to disclose (And to prevent possible misgendering online or if a person prefers to be referred to as them/they/xhe/xir instead of the mods and players defaulting to the common 'she' used online when it comes to roleplayers.) We have people all along the gender spectrum and we would like to make it as comfortable as possible for everyone.

We will be putting it up to vote about the contact page being locked/unlocked, and we would like to have an active discussion about what we can do about this, to help A.) make it where people would be as comfortable as possible and B.) Prevent purposeful misgendering or consistent accidental misgendering when referring to a player.

hello i am concerned about terezi being the 'guardian of the trees' because considering she is character played by a mod if feels pretty circle jerky for that to have been done.

being a mod meant that she already had an inside scoop to best play out deei for information and it makes me feel like it was pre-planned to go out that esp with how on the plurks terri and michi were mainly talking about those two cr.

Hey, there. I'll go ahead and take this. I can tell you with absolute honesty that none of that was pre-planned, mainly because I did not share my full plans for Deei and his personality with the other mods. It was specifically so that their characters could play in this plot without having that upper hand. This is how I have previously tried to address this potential issue. It's how I handled Ara, how Michi handled Horta, and how Sora handles Kelt. The only NPC with all of us having a lot of direct input is Zephyr.

Sora and the previous mod team came up with the original concept for Deei (e.g., what he's the god of and what his interests are), and I made modifications based on what I wanted to do with him. We all discussed some general points about what information we wanted transmitted to the player group as a whole during the plot, but beyond that, I was the only one planning and directing the motions in the plot and Deei's particular personality. My apologies that it came off as circle jerky. Every character who has approached Deei and talked about the trees with one or two minor exceptions has been spoken of favorably by the trees. Characters who were part of the listening circle were all given generally the same information with a few receiving extra tidbits that Terezi did not because of how they are going about asking their questions/discussing. Likewise, there are characters who on the Bulletin Board/non-listening circle threads and received information about him that Terezi has not been privy to because they simply asked him about it (e.g., Di learned about his wife, Ienzo was the first to learn what Deei's actual connection to Zephyr was, and Justin learned about Deei's history of travel). I had the trees name Terezi as a guardian because she has lived in the forest ICly basically since the game began. If Lili had still been in the game, she would have received a similar treatment due to her special connection to plants. There will be future plots where some characters will have more of a general advantage just because of things they've done in-game, but that does not and was never intended to exclude others.

We will keep this comment in mind, however, going forward. While I don't wish to bar the other mods from plots that I take the helm on, we'll be sure to avoid our own characters taking too much of the spotlight or being designated as singularly special. Part of the reason for recent plots like the tournament and the constellation contest having two winners who received things is because a mod character ended up taking the prize and we didn't want our characters to be the only ones highlighted. It is in the forefront of our minds.

that clears up a lot of uncertainty i had. you can understand how it can come off in certain ways maybe because the mod to player ratio is really high i can see how it may be hard to keep a mod character out of the spotlight. perhaps for future concerns when there are plots like this it could be mentioned which mod knows whats going on/which mods are pretty much PCs for it too so we know which mods are privy to things/blind to it.

Hey there! So, a group of characters headed by Flynn and Alfie are planning to attempt to make diplomatic contact with the beetle tribe in the jungle. How would the beetles react to that? Their main points of interest would be trying to establish where the boundaries of the beetles' territory are; learning more about their mindset and general goals (do they just want to collect tribute from people passing through, are they interested in expanding their territory, how might they react if people refuse to give tribute, etc.); and learning more about their culture/why they want to be paid tribute in the first place. I know they don't speak, so getting all this info might be difficult, but an attempt will be made.

Additionally, if we were interested in doing a log for this, how would that work? Would a mod play the beetles, or would we have free reign to NPC them ourselves based on the info we're given here, or should we just handwave the meeting itself and only thread out the lead-up and aftermath amongst the PCs?

Hey there! This sounds like a great and fun idea. We'd love to wrap this into something a bit bigger for our December event, in which case we'd be NPCing the beetles directly for you. Are you okay with Alfie and Flynn being stymied for a little while in locating the beetle tribe (then maybe distracted by the November event) so that we can give a little more time to set this up as something larger for the whole game?
